Who is Aries?
Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, is symbolized by the Ram, a creature with associations of power, fearlessness, and ambition across various cultures.
In ancient Babylonian astrology, Aries’ constellation was actually originally occupied by the constellation of Tammuz, Mesopotamian god of agriculture, the shepherd and consort to Ishtar, who symbolized fertility, renewal, and seasonal cycles.
Ishtar was also known to the Babylonians as Innini, through the star Ninsianna, which rose in the month of Nisan alongside Aries. You might even notice that this is actually why their Greek equivalents Ares (Tammuz) and Aphrodite (Ishtar) get paired up a lot in mythology.
Over time, the Ram replaced these earlier connections, evolving into the Aries constellation we recognize today.
In Greek mythology, Aries also linked to the golden-woolled, winged ram, Crius Chrysomallos, who was sent by the gods to rescue Phrixus and his sister Helle from their cruel stepmother.
While Helle fell into the sea, Phrixus survived and reached Colchis, where he sacrificed the ram to Zeus in gratitude. The golden fleece was then given to King Aeëtes and kept in a sacred grove, guarded by a fearsome dragon.
It later became the coveted prize in the legendary quest of Jason and the Argonauts, symbolizing authority, kingship, and divine favor.
Just like the golden ram that carried Phrixus to safety, Aries has an innate drive to take action and protect what they believe in.
Aries is ruled by Mars, the red planet, and Roman god of war, whose influence fuels their bold spirit, quick reflexes, and unshakable determination to forge ahead, no matter the obstacles.

Aries Season
Approximate Dates: March 21 – April 19
As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries season is all about fresh starts and bold new beginnings. It’s a time of high energy, motivation, and action.
The influence of fiery Aries encourages spontaneity, decisiveness, and the courage to take risks.
What to Do
This is your moment to start fresh, whether it’s launching a new project, making a bold career move, or stepping into a leadership role.
Trust your instincts and channel your energy into something meaningful.
Engage in physical activities that challenge your limits—whether it’s an intense workout, an adventurous trip, or even a competitive game.
Most importantly, don’t shy away from risks; Aries season rewards the brave.
What Not to Do
While Aries energy is exhilarating, it can also be reckless if left unchecked. Avoid acting on impulse without considering long-term consequences—just because an idea excites you doesn’t mean it’s the right move.
Watch your temper. Lashing out over small frustrations can lead to unnecessary conflicts.
Be mindful of overcommitting yourself; your enthusiasm may tempt you to say yes to everything, but spreading yourself too thin will only lead to burnout.
Lastly, remember that leadership isn’t just about charging forward—it’s also about listening. Take a moment to consider how your actions affect those around you.
Most Compatible Signs
Aries thrives with signs that match their fiery energy and adventurous spirit. In romantic relationships, Leo and Sagittarius, both fellow fire signs, create passionate and exciting connections filled with adventure and mutual ambition. Their shared enthusiasm and drive make for a relationship that never grows dull.
In friendships, Gemini and Aquarius bring mental stimulation and spontaneity, keeping Aries engaged and constantly entertained with new ideas and challenges.
Least Compatible Signs
Some signs may struggle to keep up with Aries’ intensity or find their directness overwhelming.
In romance, Cancer’s deep emotional needs may clash with Aries’ independent and fast-moving nature, leading to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.
Capricorn, while equally ambitious, takes a more methodical and patient approach to life, which can frustrate Aries’ impulsiveness.
In friendships, Pisces’ sensitivity and dreamy nature may feel overwhelmed by Aries’ direct and forceful personality, making it difficult for the two to truly connect on a balanced level.
| Hold Up! It’s important to note that compatibility is not a fixed rule—just because two signs may not naturally align doesn’t mean they can’t build meaningful relationships! Many factors in an individual’s natal chart influence how they connect with others. In fact, the conflicts between these signs’ energies are often challenges that play out within a person’s own personality rather than outright clashes with others. |

Aries thrives in fast-paced, high-energy careers where they can take initiative and lead. They excel in roles that require quick decision-making, boldness, and competitiveness.
